1st Toy

I just got out Knox's toy that he can lay under and watch the animals move. He LOVED it! He started smiling and kicking. It was precious. Well, as you can see Katie also enjoyed it very much. I love to see all 3 kids interact and play. They are a joy!

2 month check up

Thursday Knox had his 2 month old check up. I can't believe he's already 9 weeks! So here's his updated stats:
Weight 11 lbs. 14 oz. - 50th percentile
Length 23 inches - 50th percentile
Head 15 inches - 10th percentile
Dr. Flowers said one of his ears is still a little pink so we just have to watch for signs of another ear infection. We're also thinking he may have silent acid reflux. He spits up alot and each time he lays down he's crying to be burped. So we're trying different things with him and with my diet to see if he can get better. Other than that he checked out healthy!! It was no fun for him to get his immunizations. He cried so badly but worse was the afternoon and night of pain for him and not much sleep. So I was glad to actually get a pic of him on Thursday afternoon when he was not crying. Can you tell that he's a red head?? Rosalyn and Katie's hair color changed so his may too but right now it's red!!

Bellingrath Gardens 2008

Every year Nate's family travels down to Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile, AL. They usually try to go during the azalea season, because it's just so pretty. This year we went with them, and though it was a little exhausting with the three kids, it was totally worth it. Here's a few pictures from the adventure.

The Big Spit Up (Courtesy of Knox Shurden)

This is a really funny video of Knox and Rosalyn. Pay particularly close attention to Knox when you watch it the first time. Then, if you watch it again, pay close attention to Rosalyn. We have laughed and laughed at this one. We just had to share it!

Hope everyone is well!

March Pictures

Ever since Knox has been born it seems I'm way behind on blogging. Life has gotten much busier that's for sure. Rosalyn has become a little mommy around the house. She helps me do lots of things. Katie's vocabulary has taken off. She is talking all the time. She and Rosalyn are so different. Rosalyn is orderly and structured and dramatic in all she does. She's very creative and could color, write, and draw all day. Katie is more laid back and goes with the flow better but has the funniest sense of humor. She is busy, busy and seems to be looking for how to get in trouble all the time. And now there's Knox. He seems to be easy going but who knows. When he was 4 weeks he had double ear infections. He's already been on his first antibiotic and ear drops. When I took him to the doctor he weighed in at 9 lbs. 5 oz. (He was 6 lbs. 8 oz. at birth.) I was shocked! He's 7 weeks now, and we've reached a fussy, fussy stage. He has kept Nate and I up all week. We've gotten about 4 hours of sleep at night. There's only so long we can keep going like this. I'm not sure why he is so fussy. I'm queen of excuses so I've thought of all the reasons. No solution yet...though last night was a little better. Now for some pics....

Some Family Pictures

Several weeks back now, just as spring was making its first appearance, we took some pictures out in the yard. We thought you might enjoy seeing a few of them.

First Trip Out

About two weeks after Knox was born, we went out for a little bite to eat at Jason's Deli and made a quick stop at Wal-Mart. I'm sure it wasn't the most exciting trip that Knox ever makes in his life, but it was his first, so we chronicled the event all the same. Here's a few pictures from the momentous occasion.

Precious Knox

Knox will be 3 weeks tomorrow. I can't believe it. Time goes too fast. He has been the best baby we've had. He sleeps great, except for gas pains during the night sometimes. Yesterday I was able to put a 0-3 month outfit on him without it just falling off of him.

One too many...

Katie is 29 months old and is still very attached to her paci. She has to have one in her mouth and one in her hand to go to sleep. I was so sure we had almost gotten rid of them because she threw 3 of them in the trash one morning and was so proud of herself. That morning just happened to be the morning that I went to the doctor and Knox decided to arrive. I had to get Nate to dig them out of the trash for her that day and she has only become more attached to them. Here she is acting silly with them.

Mother & Baby

When cousin Marty stayed with us, she was kind enough to snap a few photos with Knox and I as we shared a few sweet moments together. He's just so precious!

Day at the Park

As usual, I didn't post as many pictures last month as I would have hoped, so I'm playing catch up now. In early February we took the girls to our community park and snapped a few pictures. They love it and always have a good time.

We're Home: More Pictures of Knox

We arrived home with Daniel Knox today! He was greeted with much joy by both his sisters and granny.

For those of you who don't know, he weighed in at 6lbs. 8oz. and was 19" long. Despite being almost three weeks early, Knox is doing very well. The doctors said he was a perfect, "10 out of 10." We are thankful to all of you for your support and prayer, and we look forward to sharing more pictures of him in the weeks to come--and we hope all of you can meet him soon!

Playing in SNOW!!!!

What a special day we had today! We were awoken this morning by phone calls from our parents saying we had snow outside. Nate looked out and he said that we only had a dusting. So we saw that my parents, farther south, would have more snow than we would for the day so we drove down to their house to play in it. Rosalyn loved playing in the snow but Katie was unsure of it and preferred to stay inside where it was warm and dry! Here are a few pics of our surprising day!

A BIG Family Picture

Nate has a big family, and when they all get together during the holidays, it's a big fun time. Here's a picture of a good many of them, and I'm fairly sure I can't tell you who's missing (though I know some are). We had the hardest time rounding everyone up for this, but in the end we pulled it off. It's a motley crew, but we love them so.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas holiday and a very happy New Year. We've been on the road a good bit visiting family but we were thankful for the opportunity to rest over the New Year's holiday. In fact, I think we were in bed hours before the New Year. The older I get the more I like it that way. Nothing like bringing in the New Year asleep!
